Catalysts for steam reforming of methane in GHR type reactors
Three catalysts for steam reforming of MeH were prepd. by impregnating high porosity Al(2)O(3) Raschig rings and rosettes (diam. 5.7 to 11 mm) and tested for their activity in stirred tank reactor, for flow resistance and heat transfer coefficients in tubular reactor (bed diam. 52 mm, bed height 750 mm, gas How up to 2 Nm(3)/h) as well as for sp. surface, porosity and radial strength. The highest catalytic activity (higher than 200% of the conventional one) showed the Raschig rings (diam. 5.7 mm). The lowest How resistance was obsd. in the case of rosettes.
