Effect of microwaves on properties of desulfurized vacuum residue of crude oil
Desulfurized vacuum residue of crude oil was blended at 80 degrees C with vacuum or clarified oil, treated with microwave radiation (448 W) at 140 degrees C for 3 min and studied for group compn., colloidal stability index, ignition temp., dynamic viscosity and turbidity. The microwave irradn. resulted in an increase in the asphalthene content in the blends.
