Strength of polyurethane-steel joints prepared by using cilbond adhesive
Steel samples were optionally mech. treated to develop their surfaces, covered with com. Cilbond adhesive, hardened at 80-90 degrees C for 1-24 h, covered with a polyurethane made of 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate, an oligo(ethylene, butylenes adipate)diol and 1,4-butanediol and then cured at 600-70 degrees C for 6 or 24 h. The highest tearing strength showed the laminates produced by hardening the adhesive for 16 or 24 h and curing the polyurethane for 6 h, when the steel samples with high roughness grade were used.
