A math. model for identification of pollution sources based on measurements of chem. concns. of pollutants in groundwater at several control points was developed. The pollutant migration in satd. zone was described by 2-dimensional hydro-dispersion equation solved by finite element method. The identification of emission points was performed by the inverse-field velocity method. A no. of control points necessary for single soln. depended on the emission nature.
