Application of IR method for process control in synthesis of "floxacinic acid" ester, a key intermediate in manufacturing third generation fluoroquinolonic anlibiotics
Two FTIR methods were developed for monitoring and controlling simultaneous changes contents of 2,4,5-trifluoro-3-methoxybenzoic acid, thionyl chloride, 2,4,5-trifluoro-3-methoxybenzoyl chloride, 2,4,5-trifluoro-3-methoxybenzoyl anhydride, ethyl 1-(2,4,5-trifiuoro-3-methoxy benzoyl)-2-(N,N-diamethylamino)acrylate and ethyl 1(2,4,5-trifluoro-3-methoxybenzoyi)-2-(N-cyclopropylamino)acry/ate in the reaction mixts. produced during synthesis of ethyl 1-cyclopropyl-6,7-difluoro-8-methoxy-4-oxo-1,4-dihydroquinolino-3-carboxylate.
