New catalysts for steam reforming
Three catalysts for methane steam reforming, partial oxidn. and afterburning were developed and implemented. The catalysts were studied for activity, resistance for coke deposition, density, porosity and crushing strength. The methane steam reforming catalyst was more active by 20% and the methane partial oxidn. catalyst by 10% than the conventional ones. The promotion of methane steam catalyst with K2O(0,5%) resulted in a decrease in its activity by 10% but its resistance to coke deposition was significantly increased (the coke deposition rate decreased from 3000 down to 50 mu g/g/min.
