The dynamics of the liquid-liquid interface in CFD calculations
The dynamics of the liq.-liq. interface surface was simulated for the H2O-octane system and compared with exp data. Simplified multiphase vol. of fluid models were used. Drop formation and drop vol. in the cuvette and capillary system involving 52 496 tetragonal cells were calcd. r 4.42 at and 11.31 ml. vs. the exptl. 4.7 +/- 0.1 s and 11.19 ml.
