Magnetically active cellulose fibres
Magnetically active composite cellulose fibres N-methylmor-pholine-N-oxide solution containing powdered hard barium ferrite (10-15%) used as modifier. The spinning was carried out with a rate 35 m/min or 70 m/min at 35 or 70-fold elongation and uniform distribution of the modifier. The fibre remanence was a fraction of the magnetic material remanence corresponding to its volume content in the fibres. No negative effect of the modifiers on fibre thermal stability was observed by the thermal analysis (DSC and TGA). The addition of the ferromagnetic modifier resulted in the deterioration of mechanical properties of the fibres.
