Modified polyetherol-polybutadienol urethane elastomers as sealants. The effect of chemical structure of the soft segment on the properties of urethane elastomers
The effect of the ratio polyetherol-polybutadienol segments on physical and mechanical properties of block urethane elastomers used for sealing purposes was studies. The elastomers were synthesized from 2 prepolymers based on polyetherol or polybutadienol, respectively. The elastomers produce were highly elastic (330-850%). Their water sorbability decreased as the polybutadienol segment contribution inceased. Neither synergism nor antagonism of physical or mechanical properties of the elastomers was observed. The substrates were fully miscible in the studied range of their concentrations.
