The correlation of chemical oxygen demand with ethereal extract of dairy wastewaters
Model wastewaters were prepd. by dilg. 3.2% fat milk with distd. H2O to yield 0.006%, 0.013%, and 0.019% fat liquors and 9 more liquors contg. 0.0032-0.029% fat (in 0.0032% steps). COD (mg O-2/L) was detd. by spectrophotometry and fat content (E, mg/L) was detd. in a Soxhlet app. by extri. with petr ether, E-C(+/-10%) = (COD - 78.517)/4.9463 (r = 0.9569).
