Fluid catalytic cracking and propylene production growth
A review with 18 refs. summarizing recent FCC reactor and catalyst improvements, the 1990s new and the 2000s promising FCC processes yielding more C3H6 than does conventional naphtha steam cracking, and covering activity and selectivity of ZSM-5 zeolite catalysts to crack C-6-C-10, processes, catalysts and parameters intended to maximize C3H6 yields, and routes to C3H6 via secondary cracking of light gasoline fractions.
