Characterization of Regular and Modified Bitumens via Their Complex Modulus
Rheological methods of characterization of regular and modified bitumens are studied. The fractional model of a complex modulus is inverted to generate the corresponding molecular weight distribution. A possibility to obtain more information about the structure of bitumens via the phase angle is investigated. The problem of a calibration equation is briefly discussed. The presence of polymer additives in modified bitumens is manifested on the molecular weight distribution obtained from the phase angle.
