Alkylation of benzene with higher olefins on heterogeneous catalysts
The state of the art production of hydrocarbon feedstock for synthetic detergents via alkylation of benzene with higher olefins in the presence of heterogeneous catalysts is surveyed. Comparative testing of catalysts prepared on the basis of zeolites ZSM and Y, mordenite, activated bentonite, and sulfated aluminum and zirconium oxides was performed in the reaction of benzene alkylation with 1-hexene, 1-octene, 1-dodecene, and dodecane dehydrogenation products. Data on the influence of the reaction conditions on the feedstock conversion and the yield of linear alkylbenzenes are presented.
