Study of the reactivity of thioalkylphenols toward cumyl peroxide radicals and cumene hydroperoxide
The reactivity of nine thioalkylphenols with different structures toward cumyl peroxide radicals and cumene hydroperoxide was studied. The rate constants of the reaction of thioalkylphenols with cumyl peroxide radicals (k(7)) and the stoichiometric inhibition factors (f) were determined. The effect of the structure of the sulfur-containing moiety of inhibitor molecules on their ability to decompose cumene hydroperoxide was revealed.
