Synthesis and study of the antioxidant activity of alkylthiomethyl derivatives of sterically hindered phenols and nitrogen heterocycles
The reaction between naturally occurring C-2-C-5 mercaptans with paraformaldehyde and chlorotrimethylsilane yields alkyl(chloromethyl) sulfides. In the reaction of the latter with known antioxidants containing mercapto and amino groups, corresponding alkylthiomethyl derivatives were synthesized. It was shown that these compounds exhibited a high antioxidant activity in the inhibited oxidation of the paraffin-naphthene lubricating oil S-110.
