Specific features of inhibitory action of polyfunctional sulfur-containing antioxidants
The antioxidant activity of sulfur-containing inhibitors and compositions involving compounds with different states of the sulfur atoms in molecules, namely, sulfide sulfur -S-S-, SH (polyphenol sulfides, PPS), dithiolthione cycle (derivatives of hydrogenated quinolines, DTT), and sulfate group (sodium alkyl sulfates, SDS), was studied in different oxidizing systems: alkanes, alkylaromatic and polyene hydrocarbons, and oils. The kinetic parameters of the antiradical activity of PPS and DTT were determined. All the compounds under study act as cumene hydroperoxide (CHP) degradation catalysts and give synergetic antioxidant mixtures with phenols.
