By-product formation routes in the vapor-phase dehydration of methylphenylcarbinol over gamma-aluminum oxide
Acetophenone was shown to be a source of by-products in the industrial methylphenylcarbinol dehydration process. It was assumed that hydrogenation reactions occurring in the system could involve molecular hydrogen released upon the formation of condensation products.
