Polyurethane Heals Itself via UV-Activated Process
Scientists are increasingly turning to biomimetics for insights into the development of chemistries that duplicate biological processes. The wound-healing capability of skin helped lead researchers at the University of Southern Mississippi to a new technique for scratch-resistant polyurethane that relies on chemical reactions initiated by ultraviolet (UV) light for self-repair properties.
