Synthesis of two-dimensional micron-size single-crystalline Prussian blue nanosheets by hydrothermal methods assisted by glucose
Prussian blue Fe(4)[Fe(CN)(6)](3) nanosheets have been successfully prepared by a simple hydrothermal process employing the reactions between K(3)[Fe(CN)(6)] and glucose (C(6)H(12)O(6)). X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy measurement results show that the Prussian blue nanosheets are highly crystalline with a face-centered-cubic structure of a = 10.26 angstrom. It was found the C(6)H(12)O(6) is not only a reductant, but also may be a template for synthesizing the nanosheets. (C) 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
