Non-linear viscoelasticity
The material model employed for describing the mechanical response of a material has a crucial influence on the informativeness of structural-mechanical analyses. A new material model is presented for describing the non-linear viscoelasticity of thermoplastics in FEA. The article additionally shows that the effort involved in calibrating the new model can basically be kept relatively low by deriving the requisite data from short-term tensile tests.
