The residence time of the moulding compound and the metering path are the key criteria in selecting the correct screw diameter and hence in determining the quality level of the injection mouldings produced. The ScrewSelection software allows these two parameters to be calculated within a very short time. On the basis of this calculation, it is then possible to establish a screw diameter suitably tailored to the application in question which will ensure a stable injection moulding process.
