A wide-ranging survey was conducted with the aim of providing an objective basis for the debate on electrical and hydraulic drive technologies in injection moulding machines. This investigation is based on measurements on electrical, hydraulic and hybrid drives for injection moulding machines. The machines are in industrial service with various plastics processors, some of whom have been using the various drive technologies for several years.
