The characterisation of compounds based on a thermoplastics and an elastomeric phase is a complex problem due to the interaction of thermoplastic matrix and disperse elastomeric particles. Different kinds of measurements (NMR, dynamic-mechanical analysis and swelling) were carried out to characterise compounds based on Polypropylene and scrapped EPDM rubber. The influence of the scrapped rubber crosslink density on the final relevant mechanical properties was investigated.
