Prediction of binary azeotropic temperatures by use of topological and thermodynamic conditions for combinations of azeotropes in ternary systems
A method is proposed for predicting the existence of binary azeotropes and their boiling temperatures by use of topological and thermodynamic conditions for combinations of azeotropes in ternary systems. The method can not only predict boiling temperatures but also give their confidence intervals. Its usefulness is demonstrated by predicting azeotropic temperatures of 8 binary systems utilizing 559 sets of ternary azeotropic data.
