Although a few physical and chemical approaches have been documented to enhance the efficiency of retrovirus-mediated gene transfer, systematic analysis of the processes involved in the retroviral transduction system remains to be important for further improvement. With the aid of reasonable mathematical description of an experimental system, we can therefore predict and optimize the retroviral gene delivery on a quantitative basis of understanding.
