Vapor-Liquid Equilibrium for Methoxymethane plus Methyl Formate, Methoxymethane plus Hexane, and Methyl Formate plus Methanol
Isothermal vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) for three binary systems was measured with a static total pressure method. The methoxymethane + methyl formate equilibrium was measured at 308K, methoxymethane + hexane at 308 K and 335 K, and methyl formate + methanol at 359 K. The measured data were reduced to phase equilibrium data with the Barker's method. Legendre, Wilson, nonrandom two-liquid (NRTL), and universal quasichemical (UNIQUAC) parameters and modified universal functional (UNIFAC, Dortmund) pressure residuals were calculated. All binaries exhibited a positive deviation from the Raoult's law. A maximum pressure azeotrope was observed for the methyl formate + methanol system.
