Numerical modelling of aerodynamic noise with the use of URANS and Euler methods
The paper refers to the numerical method for aerodynamic noise prediction on the basis of unsteady mean flow field information. This information can be taken, e.g. from the solution of unsteady Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) equations. For prediction of aerodynamic noise, the solution of full non-linear Euler equations for fluctuating variables is used. This system of equations is solved with the use of the same numerical grid like for URANS equations and by means of very similar numerical methods, that is TVD upwind scheme with MUSCL technique for spatial discretization and the Runge-Kutta explicit time integration method. Our first results of the aerodynamic noise calculations with the use of elaborated method encourage to further research in this field.
