Kinetics of the esterification of maleic anhydride with n-octyl alcohol over acid ion exchange resin as a catalyst
The kinetics of the esterification of maleic anhydride with n-octyl alcohol has been investigated in an experimental isothermal semi batch reactor over acid ion exchange resin Dowex as a catalyst. The reaction is of the first order; first order with respect to acid and zero order with respect to alcohol. The kinetic parameters have been determined.
