CFD modelling of liquid-liquid two-phase flow in static mixers
Two-phase, turbulent flow of two liquids in static mixers with the Kenics or SMX inserts was modelled. Water was the continuous phase and silicon oil formed the dispersed one. The velocity field was computed using the Eulerian approach and the residence time and the drop path by the Lagrangian one. The laminar flow modelling was repeated for the SMX mixer with a modified numerical mesh.
