Estimation of breakthrough curves for adsorptive drying of ethanol
The results of the investigations of adsorptive ethanol drying have been presented. The experiments were performed using a fixed-bed adsorber and 3A molecular sieves as an adsorbent. The experimental data were analyzed using Liao and Shiau model allowing for the axial dispersion model and linear adsorption isotherm. On the basis of the experimental results and computer simulation, the breakthrough curves have been estimated. The effects of the retardation coefficient R-d and the Peclet number Pe on the shape of the breakthrough curves have been presented and discussed.
