The growth of agglomerates during wet drum granulation of mineral raw material of different particle size composition
Results of the investigation of drum granulation of ground dolomite with different particle size composition are discussed. Raw material for testing was prepared by mixing initial fractions of the material at determined ratios. Geometric similarity of particle size compositions of particular raw materials was assumed in the calculations. Two parameters, sigma/d(s) = 1.07 and gamma(1) = 2,30 were assumed constant for six values of mean diameter d(s) ranging from 10.6 to 34.9 mu m. The effect of the amount of wetting liquid and particle size composition of the raw material on the rate of growth of mean particle diameter was investigated.
