Graphene quantum dots (GQDs) were synthesized and embedded in metal halide perovskite (MHP) films. Comparison between pristine and GQD-embedded MHP films suggested that the GQDs acted as passivating defects present within the MHP film, not only at the interface but also throughout the bulk of the film. Perovskite photodetector devices were then fabricated using the GQD-embedded MHP film, and were seen to exhibit reduced dark current, increased device detectivity, and faster response speed due to lower trap density throughout the bulk MHP layer. |
