Polymer-clay nanocomposites are formed through the union of two very different materials with organic and inorganic pedigrees. These nanocale materials often exhibit physical and chemical properties that are dramatically different from conventional microcomposites. Therefore, the field of polymer nanocomposites are being investigated by many researchers. Previous works on the characterization of the structure or morphology of polymer nanocomposites have used primarily XRD, DSC, TEM, TGA, and so on. But these methods were of macroscopic view and nearly impossible to characterize the microscopic differences and dynamics at the molecular level. In this study, we prepared a sense of the nylon 6/clay hybrids with modified MMT, and analized these sample by using spectroscopic methods such as solid-state NMR and FT-IR to discuss the molecular architecture and dynamical characteristics of the nanocomposites.
