제목 Organic Ferromagnetic compositions at High Temperatures a Lesson learned from DNA
초록 It was found that high temperature ferromagnetism could achieved by intercalating an organic discotic liquid crystalline (DLC) compounds with an Fe(III)Pc complexes and also with stable organic free radicals. This historical discovery is originated from our earlier studies in the magnetic properties of DNA. We earlier observed that DNA revealed ferromagnetism at room temperature when complexed with Iron[Fe(III)] and also when intercalated with stable organic free radicals. We find an analogy between the ferromagnetic properties of inorganic dilute magnetic semiconductors and DNA and DLC compositions. In addition, we also observe that room temperature ferromagnetism for the compositions consisting of (MEH-PPV) and the same dopants. This will be present in detail one of our poster presentations in this annual meeting. Spin orientation of dopants assisted by the itinerant pi-systems of the hosts is considered to be the most important structural factor. Organic spintronics are expected to open new research field as well as high technological applications of organic materials, for examples, in information storage, display, and quantum computations.
