Synthesis and Characterization of Polymer-Peptide Conjugates for heavy metal abstraction |

A new class of well-defined polymer-peptide block copolymers was successfully synthesized by the combination of ring opening polymerization of N-benzyl-histidine-NCA and ATRP of styrene. This two-step synthetic route helps to introduce synthetic polymers into sequence-defined oligopeptides. Well-defined block copolymers with controllable molecular weight and narrow polydispersity was obtained. The investigations reagarding the heavy metal abstraction of this block copolymer was carried out using UV-Vis spectroscopy. |
