제목 The structural, magnetic and optical properties of flower like magnetic (Fe3O4, γ-Fe2O3 and α-Fe2O3) iron oxides
초록 The magnetite (Fe3O4), maghemite (γ-Fe2O3), and hematite, these three oxides are very important for scientific and technological interest.  In the present work, the flower like magnetic iron oxide (Fe3O4, γ-Fe2O3 and α-Fe2O3) particles were prepared by using ethylene glycol mediated process followed by altering the calcination conditions. All the samples were characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and Raman spectroscopy. The morphology was examined by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). The FE-SEM images showed that all iron oxides were of 3D flower like shape and approximately 4.6 μm in diameter. Magnetic properties of the as prepared samples were investigated by using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The optical properties were measured by UV- visible reflectance spectra.
Visible light (λ> 420 nm) was observed to induce photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) in the presence of H2O2. The results show that photocatalytic activity and magnetic properties of the investigated samples are greatly affected by different iron oxides.
