The structural and magnetic properties of Mn–Ni alloys prepared by planetary ball mill method |
초록 |
Soft magnetic alloys have attracted much attention in the field of advanced engineering due to their various interesting properties and possible applications. The crystals of such materials exhibit the ultra-soft ferromagnetic behavior originated by the grains anisotropy and exchange bios effect located on the grain boundaries. The planetary ball-mill is a simple way to fabricate soft magnetic alloys. This method involves the synthesis of alloy powders by milling the elemental powders in an appropriate ball mill. During the ball-mill process, a significant amount of energy is transferred from the balls to the powder. We report the structural and magnetic properties of the Mn-Ni samples prepared by conventional planetary ball mill method. The milling was done at 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 rpm, from 0h to 60h for all the investigated samples. The structure and morphology of the samples were studied by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and particle size analyzer. The XRD results showed that the obtained Mn-Ni alloys have face-centered cubic (FCC) structure. The magnetic properties were measured using vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The magnetization measurement as a function of magnetic field was carried out for all samples. This investigation suggests a strong influence of the microstructure on the magnetic behavior of the Mn-Ni alloys. |
