제목 Environmentally Friendly Synthesis of Fluorescent Carbon Nano-onions Through Simple Mechanochemistry of Cellulose
초록 . Cellulose is a product having a single bond and straight-chain shape with the D-glucose (1 → 4) glycoside type. When the powder of cellulose is shock by mechanical methods through an high pressure homogenizer, cellulose powders with the diameter of tens of mm are broken down to carbon nano-onion with diameter less than 100 nm. The resulting carbon nano-onion shows blue emission upon the excitation of UV. Because no chemical reaction was occurred during the formation of carbon nano-onion, the formation of carbon nano-onion from cellulose powder is regarded to be based on the so-called ‘mechanochemistry’ through high pressure homogenizer. Because both the starting material and the experimental method are highly eco-friendly, this mechanochemical synthesis of carbon nano-onion might be highly promising for further applications. 2019년 한국교통대의 지원을 받아 수행하였음.
