제목 Solvent-free Direct Patterning of Highly Ordered Liquid Crystalline Organic Semiconductor via Template Assisted Self-assembly for Organic Transistors
초록 Development of high-performance printed semiconductor devices is highly desired with the expectation for the next generation technologies of “printable electronics” providing simply fabricated, flexible, large-area, low-cost, and environmentally friendly electronic products such as paper-like flexible displays. Here, we fabricated highly ordered organic semiconductor micro patterns made of the liquid crystalline small molecule, 2,7-didecylbenzothienobenzothiophene (C10-BTBT), using a simple method based on template assisted self-assembly (TASA). The self-aligned phenomena in smectic liquid crystal phase of C10-BTBT allow to solvent-free fabrication process for well-defined micropatterns. Nucleation and directional growth of small molecules via TASA was investigated with grazing X-ray diffraction, optical and electron microscopy. As a result, we demonstrate high-performance organic transistors with a mobility of ~2.0 cm2/V∙s based on highly ordered small molecule micro-patterns.
