Various types of imidazolium-based ionic liquids (ILs) were synthesized and used as extractants for the desulfurization of a model oil containing dibenzothiophene (DBT). The amount of DBT extracted was significantly affected by the Lewis acidity and also by the fluidity of ionic liquids. |
