제목 Ring-opening polymerization of α-Amino acid N-Carboxyanhydrides by Employing Carbene Derivatives as a Catalyst
초록 A series of polypeptides have been synthesized by ring-opening polymerization of α-amino acid N-carboxyanhydride (NCA) by using 1,3-diisopropylimidazolium hydrogen carbonate as the catalyst. The catalyst was achieved by anion metathesis of imidazolium halides using potassium hydrogen carbonate in methanolic solution, without the need for the prior preparation of free carbene. With this methodology, the ring-opening polymerization of polypeptides are controllable and faster. The control of polymerization was attributed to the strong nucleophilicity of N-heterocyclic carbenes.
