Development of an Exfoliated Graphene/Nafion Electrode and Electrochemical Characteristics of Glucose Biosensor |

Herein we demonstrated that the graphene nanoplatelets have the potential use of an excellent electrode material in the biosensor application by encapsulation of glucose oxidase into the graphene/Nafion hybrid. The morphology of composite electrode was observed by the SEM image, showing the two dimensional flake-shape. The electrochemical properties of composite electrode were investigated by the cyclic voltammetric and amperometric measurements by immobilizing the glucose oxidase on the surface of composite electrode, which represent fast response time (~5 s). The two-dimensional nanoplates/Nafion hybrid system represents a simple and functional approach to the modified electrode, which can provide analytical access to various groups of enzymes for applications of biosensors.
