In our previous studies, we synthesized new fluoropolymers, poly[oxy[[2-(perfluoroalkyl)ethyl]sulfonylmethyl]ethylene]s, which contains hydrophilic oxyethylene backbone, hydrophilic sulfone spacers, and hydrophobic fluoroalkyl side groups. These polymers show very low surface energies evaluated by contact angle measurement. To study the relationship between side chain length and structure of these polymers, grazing incidence X-ray diffraction (GIXD), and near edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) measurements were used. |
