Flexible Substrate based on Colorless Polyimide and its Organoclay Nanocomposites |

Polyimide/clay nanocomposite films for flexible substrate were prepared from the solution of poly(amic acid) and organoclays. Poly(amic acid) was prepared from 2,2’-bis-(3,4-dicarboxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane dianhydride(6FDA) and 2,2’-bis(trifluoromethyl)-4,4’-diaminophenyl(TFDB). The Al doped Zinc Oxide(AZO) which was used as transparent electrodes was deposited onto the PI/clay nanocomposite films using a planar magnetron sputtering system. The sheet resistance was measured using a four-point probe. In this work, as clay amount increase, the sheet resistance of PI/clay nanocomposites deposited with AZO showed better values. Experiments are carried out to study the effect of clay concentration in nanocomposites on the surface properties. Their surface properties were characterized by contact angle and XPS measurement. We investigated that the surface energy of PI/clay nanocomposites growed higher with increasing amount of clay, in turn, resulted in better sheet resistance values. |
