제목 Nanocomposite Films of Poly(methyl methacrylate) with Zinc Oxide
초록 Nanocomposite films of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) with zinc oxide (ZnO) have been prepared. PMMA is an optically clear thermoplastic and has mild processing conditions. ZnO is a II-VI type of semiconductor with a wide band gap and is a UV-absorber. The nanocomposite films of these compounds are of interest due to potential applications such as transparent flexible display substrates, UV protection materials, and flame retardant materials, etc. Moreover, the drawbacks of PMMA such as the high thermal expansion coefficient and high permeability of H2O and O2 can be reduced by adding inorganic materials. In this paper, the procedure of preparing PMMA/ZnO nanocomposite films and their structure-property relationships will be presented.
