제목 | Strong electromagnetic chirality from nano-antennas |
초록 | Strong electromagnetic chirality is desired to achieve ultra-thin circular polarizer and filter, negative refraction [1], and topological metamaterials [2]. However, natural instrinsic chirality is usually extremely small. Strong electromagnetic chirality has been researched using geometrically chiral nano-antennas [3,4] or natural chiral medium coupled to nano-antennas [5]. Still, no general design rules exist to maximize the chirality. Here, we try to relate microscopic mechanism of such strong chirality involving nano-antennas using multipolar expansion approach by showing that strong chirality often coincides with multipolar resonances.
