Microalgae have recently been considered as excellent biomass source for biofuels production, because they accumulation a large amount of lipid and carbohydrate. In this study, a sequential production of liquid biofuels such as biodiesel, bioethanol and bio-oil from microalgae was performed. Biodiesel were synthesized by a two-step process of the lipid extraction from microalgae biomass and biotransformation of these lipids to biodiesel by Novozyme 435 in DMC. In the second step, polysaccharide of the lipid-extracted residual biomass was saccharified and then bioethanol was produced from the saccharification solution. In the last step, the residual biomass converted to bio-oil through fast pyrolysis. Major microalgae components were successfully utilized for biofuel production without waste formation. |
