The Tribological Properties of Dicarboxylic Acid Derivatives Containing Dialkyl Dithiophosphate with Side Alkyl Chain |

The most widely used as a lubricating oil additive having effects of preventing oxidation of lubricant and suppressing abrasion is Zinc dialkyldithiophosphate (ZDDP). ZDDP contains heavy metals so it has a negative impact on the environment. Therefore, the dicarboxylic acid derivatives containing dialkyldithiophosphoric acid (DDP) were synthesized in order not to contain heavy metals such as zinc, and we studied the frictional property change of these. Use of alkanedioic acid of 11 in the main carbon chain and using a 4-ball wear scar test examined for wear scar diameter (WSD) of product. Each WSD has been measured at 0.59 to 0.48 mm in accordance with changing the concentration from 0.1 to 1%, of which exhibited the best anti-wear properties at a concentration of 0.5%. Concentrations of ZDDP at the same concentration was 0.62 mm. |
