Microcapsules containing pluronic F 127 were prepared by an emulsion solvent evaporation method. Pluronic solution in water was used as a water phase and poly(ε-caprolactone)/ethyl cellulose solution (1:2, w/w) in dichloromethane was used as an oil phase. Using span 80 as an emulsifier, a primary w/o emulsion was prepared by homogenizing the two phases. Then, primary emulsion was added dropwise into PVA solution (2 %) to produce a double emulsion. To evaporate solvent, the double emulsion was gently stirred at 37℃. It was found that evaporation for 4 hrs was enough for the formation of microcapsules. The physical characteristics such as shape, size and phase transition were investigated. In addition, temperature-dependent releases from the microcapsules were investigated using blue dextran and FITC dextran as dyes. |
