제목 | Preparation of poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK) polymer-dispersed liquid crystal films |
초록 | Polymer-dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC)1 composite films have been developed greatly for use in electro-optic devices. Liquid crystal (LC) domains dispersed in the polymer matrix are either separate or of continuous phase. Poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK)2 has been attracted a lot of attention because of their photophysical properties and wide application such as photo-conductor, electroluminescent and photorefractive devices. In this work, we prepared PVK polymer-dispersed liquid crystal composite films by thermally-induced phase separation in a homogeneous mixture of LC and PVK. The size of LC droplets depends on the composition of the system and the rate of cooling. PVK polymer-dispersed liquid crystal composite films are expected to have optical and electrical properties.
